Orchestral Partner Information

Orchestral Partners will provide Boulanger Initiative with:

  • Orchestral Partner Fee: fees are based on a sliding scale relative to the League of American Orchestras Group Levels (click the button below to receive more information on fees) or an equivalent categorization upon which we jointly decide

  • Your logo for use on website, marketing, and promotional materials. In return, your orchestra will place the Redefining the Canon logo and language on your website’s audition page and any audition excerpt lists

Excerpt Forager Requirements

Foragers are in-house at Boulanger Initiative, but we also provide the opportunity for musicians to have a hands-on role in the excerpt selection by becoming Excerpt Foragers with us either for one audition, or on a regular basis.

Excerpt Foragers are given a chance to act as Citizen Artists through this program and make a tangible impact on the orchestral field, whether only for one upcoming audition or on a more consistent basis. We will provide guidance, instructions, and all necessary materials for musicians to search through orchestral parts and choose orchestral excerpts.

Excerpt Forager Process:

  1. Click the button below to receive more information and sign up

  2. Our team will email you a portion of a part of a piece by a historically underrepresented composer* for your instrument along with a Repertoire Suggestion Form to fill out

  3. You will examine the part(s) we send to search for excerpts within that parallel or mirror the techniques and skill sets of the standard canon excerpt and fill out the Repertoire Suggestion Form for each new excerpt found

  4. Foraging one new excerpt can take as little as half an hour!
